The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced its payment dates for July 2024, brings long-awaited clarity to millions of beneficiaries.
To streamline the payment process and avoid possible delays, SASSA has opted for a phased implementation where different types of grants are paid on specific days.
The old age will be paid first from June 4, 2024. The disability grant will come into force on June 5, 2024. Child support, foster care and care dependency grants will be processed on 4 July 2024.
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, which was recently increased to R370, will be paid out in the last week of July, from the 24th to the 30th.
SASSA Confirms July 2024 Payment Dates
- Old Age Grants: 2 July 2024
- Disability Grants: 3 July 2024
- Children’s Grants (including Child Support, Foster Care, and Care Dependency): 4 July 2024
- Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 Grant: July 24th to 30th, 2024
SRD recipients are encouraged to regularly check their SASSA status online or through the mobile app to confirm their exact payment date.
SASSA has assured beneficiaries that it has taken all possible measures to ensure that payment is made in a timely and efficient manner.
Those who have submitted their bank details will receive their grant directly into their account, while others can collect their payment at designated payment points.
This multi-level approach not only aims to avoid overloading the payment system, but also enables SASSA to address issues that arise during the payment process.
The agency encourages beneficiaries to remain patient and use available communication channels for questions or concerns.
Although the July payment dates have been confirmed, SASSA advises beneficiaries to stay tuned for official announcements as changes may occur from time to time due to unforeseen circumstances.
