The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announces payment dates for June 2024. The government agency has drafted a payment schedule to ensure the smooth process of distributing social grants.
SASSA beneficiaries can receive their SASSA payments from selected supermarkets, such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers and Shoprite, and obtain this through their SASSA card or by getting the amount directly transferred into their bank account.
“There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed,” the agency said.
Sassa announces payment dates for June 2024
Payment schedule for grants from South African Social Security Agency:
- Older Persons Grant Wednesday, June 4th, 2024
- Disability Grant Thursday, June 5th, 2024
- Children’s Grant Friday, June 6th, 2024
Elderly grant will be paid on the fourth, while others will be paid from the sixth.
The agency also said in a Tweet that there is no fixed payment date for the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) of R370.

“The applicant will be paid for each month as long as they still meet the qualification criteria. Every month the application will be verified to ensure that the applicant still qualifies for that particular month,” Sassa said.
