The Institution is excited to announce that applications for the 2025 academic year are now open! Whether you’re a prospective undergraduate or postgraduate student, NWU offers a diverse range of programmes to help you achieve your educational and career goals. Here’s everything you need to know to complete your application successfully.
Application Closing date
The application closing date for the 2025 academic year is 30 August 2024. To ensure your application receives full consideration, it’s essential to submit all required documents and complete the application process before the deadline.

Application Process
To submit your application to NWU, follow these steps:
Step 1: Getting a Student Number
If you don’t already have a student number, start by visiting the online application platform. Follow the prompts to create a new student number by completing all the required fields. Please note that obtaining a student number does not mean your application is complete.
Step 2: Log In
Once you’ve received your student number, use it along with the PIN number you created to log in to the application portal.
Step 3: Choose Your Programme
Select the programme you wish to study and complete all the required fields. You can use the provided calendar link to access more information about qualifications, modes of delivery, and curricula.
Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents
Undergraduate and postgraduate students must upload the following supporting documents to complete their applications:
- Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only), or a copy of your matric certificate (if applicable)
- Copy of your ID
- Copy of your academic record (if applicable)
- Completed undertaking form
- Additional documents for international prospective students, including relevant results and a copy of your passport
Step 5: Submit Your Application
Application are done online at https://applynow.nwu.ac.za/
Once you’ve uploaded all the required documents, be sure to press the “Submit application” button to finalize your submission.
