How To Update Your SRD Grant Application

It is important to ensure that all details provided by Applicants are correct while applying for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).

Sassa announced that the SRD grant will run until March 2023, so all active applications or reapplications filed since April 2022 will be considered.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to keep their personal information on the application up to date, especially if circumstances have changed.

Here’s How To Update Your Grant Application

  • Visit the Sassa SRD website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za.
  • Scroll down and click on ”update your grant application”.
  • Click on ”update existing application”.
  • Enter your ID number and your mobile number.
  • Click the ”Send SM” button. 
  • Detailed instructions for updating your application will appear once you’ve signed in with a one-time -pin (OTP). 

Beneficiaries may update their screening questionnaires on the Sassa website at any time if circumstances change or errors need to be corrected.

It is important that applicants update their details since the Agency will not be able to process their application if they do not do so.

If your Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) application has been rejected, Sassa stated that you should file an appeal within 90 days. Applicants will be notified if their appeal was successful or not after the application has been reconsidered.
